Chemistry students developed their methods and procedures for the Factors Affecting Chemical Yield assignment and took to the lab to run their trials. There was a choice of investigating either sodium hydrogen carbonate (baking soda) or potassium carbonate and reacting them with hydrochloric acid. Some students varied the amount of solid, others changed the amount/concentration of acid to determine the affects. The idea for the lab came from the always brilliant Stephen Taylor here.
