Chemistry students had a chance to perform an interesting and hands-on reaction using the help of a 9 Volt battery. This was the same activity done with the 7+8 Science class last year and it worked well again. Water was electrolysed into hydrogen and oxygen gas using the electricity from the battery and the metal tacks stuck into the bottom of the cups. A very easy and cheap way to show this decomposition reaction!
